International Institute for Health Care Management Development

The International Institute for Health Care Management Development is a not-for-profit organization, found to fill a missing link in accumulation and sharing of knowledge in hospital and health care service management in the CEE Region. Countries of Central and Eastern Europe face a major need to develop their social systems, in which health care system closely relates to and is one of the most demanding systems to develop. To help overcome the gap between the systematic demands in health systems environment and ability to adjust into efficient and better-sustained systems the Institute will work closely with individual health care organizations, national governments and international organizations; EU institutions included. In this concern the Institute has several aims gathered in the following areas: Managerial Education and Training, Project oriented work, and International Cooperation.

The Institute creates a unique meeting place for the experts in health care management and health systems in the Region. Slovenia is a country with well developed health system and also a stable economic environment giving possibilities to attract the best experts to meet and develop new concepts in addressing the challenges.

IIHMD concluded research of managerial competences of middle management in Austrian and Slovene hospitals
